Mughal Emperor Jehangir Said it all when he visited Kashmir in the 17th century. You’ve been places and you’ve been places, but if you have not visited this Paradise on Earth, you’ve missed out an experience of a lifetime.
So after a horrible hectic schedule of work and a wait of more than 5-6 months, I went on a much-anticipated trip to Kashmir with a bunch of my friends. I had never imagined going to Kashmir and it came out of blue moon so I just went for it.

Srinagar – A mirror to the mountains
Srinagar is the largest city of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies in the Kashmir Valley on the banks of the Jhelum River.

So we decided to stay in the Houseboat on the banks of Dal Lake. Over 15km around, Dal Lake is Srinagar’s jewel.
A shikara ride on Dal Lake is must, and if you can get up early you can enjoy most beautiful sunrise through the misty peaks of the Pir Panjal mountains.
On the banks of Dal Lake lies the most peaceful and holy place of Jammu and Kashmir the Dargah Hazratbal

Wow! Kashmir! So beautiful! I’m so happy you were able to go there!

I really hope to make it there soon! I’d love to do a big trip throughout the Indian subcontinent one of these days, but first I need to finish my master’s degree!

I’m studying something called “environment and community.” It’s an interdisciplinary social science program that focuses on understanding the human dimensions of environmental problems. Here’s a link:
